Garson Maclean was established in 1994 to provide energy businesses with a dynamic, cost-effective audit and commercial investigation resource.
With over 25 years’ experience, we bring a significant amount of sector knowledge and insight to each engagement. As passionate, independent auditors, we pride ourselves on our efficiency, effectiveness and integrity.
Our internationally recognised team comprises some of the best talent in the industry. Each team member has experience in top ten global consulting firms and a deep understanding of regulatory standards and auditing best practice. They’ve also led numerous auditing projects for international oil, gas and renewable energy clients, prior to and during their time at Garson Maclean.

Our leadership team
Rab Garson – Managing Partner
Rab is an Ernst & Young trained Chartered Accountant with over 30 years of experience in the international oil and gas industry. Before setting up Garson Maclean in 1994 he worked for Britoil, Hamilton Brothers and Hess as a UK-based International Audit Manager. He continues to enjoy the challenges and dynamism that servicing the energy sector never fails to provide.
Brian Welsh – Partner
Brian has over 25 years in the oil and gas industry. This includes roles as Drilling Accountant and then Auditor at BP, as well as a Management Consultant role within Accenture’s international “Fast Team.” Prior to joining Garson Maclean in 2012, he ran his own consultancy practice.
